Everything you need to know: controls on mobile and desktop, the rules of the maze, how scoring works, and how to survive higher levels. Free browser game — no download required.
1. Visit the Play page. 2. Wait a moment for the maze to load. 3. Tap or press a direction to start moving. 4. Eat every glowing orb to clear the level. 5. Avoid the four dragons unless they're blue.
Play NowRun Dragon Run is built touch-first. The entire game canvas fits any phone screen, and controls are designed so you never need to reach for a button while the dragons are chasing you.
Swipe anywhere on the maze in any of the four cardinal directions (up, down, left, right) to steer the knight. The swipe can start from anywhere on the game area — you don't have to swipe on the knight itself. The knight turns at the next intersection that allows the requested direction.
On-screen overlay buttons appear at the bottom of the maze with a frosted-glass effect: Pause, Mute, Restart, Scores, and Help. These are semi-transparent so they don't obscure the maze. The sound toggle also appears as a small floating button in the top-left corner.
Lives and orb counter display as a small overlay in the top-right corner of the maze so you always know your status without scrolling. The canvas auto-scales to your screen size, so the entire 28-by-32 grid stays visible at all times.
First-time audio prompt: browsers block audio until a user interacts. On first load, tap the small purple button (or the “Click to enable sound” prompt) once to unlock sound effects and background music for the rest of your session.
On a desktop or laptop, Run Dragon Run uses keyboard controls. All control buttons (Pause, Mute, Music, Restart, Scores, Help, Report Issue) are also visible below the maze for mouse users, and keyboard shortcut hints are shown at the bottom of the screen.

You can hold a direction key continuously to keep the knight moving — there is no need to re-tap at every intersection. The knight buffers the most recent input and turns at the next valid opening, exactly like classic arcade maze games.
You control a golden knight wearing a silver medieval helmet with a red plume. The knight moves continuously in the direction you choose and only stops when it hits a wall. You can change direction at any maze intersection.
Your goal: eat all 276 small glowing orbs scattered throughout the maze to advance to the next level. Each level is the same maze layout but with faster dragons, shorter safety phases, and a different wall color scheme.
Power pellets are the four large pulsing orbs in the corners of the maze. Eating one turns all four dragons blue (frightened mode) for a limited time. While blue, dragons can be eaten for escalating points: 200, 400, 800, and 1,600. The counter resets every time you eat a new power pellet.
Tunnels: the maze has four wrap-around tunnels on the sides. If you exit the left side, you appear on the right side, and so on. Inside tunnels, the dragons slow down while you keep your normal speed — making tunnels your best escape route when surrounded.
Lives: you start with 3 lives. Each time a dragon that is not in frightened (blue) mode touches you, you lose one life. When all 3 lives are gone, the game is over. You earn a bonus life at 10,000 points.
Run Dragon Run uses a classic arcade scoring system. Points are awarded as follows:
| Action | Points |
|---|---|
| Eat a small orb | 10 |
| Eat a power pellet | 50 |
| Eat 1st dragon (frightened) | 200 |
| Eat 2nd dragon (same phase) | 400 |
| Eat 3rd dragon (same phase) | 800 |
| Eat 4th dragon (same phase) | 1,600 |
| Bonus life at 10,000 points | +1 life |
Bonus treasures appear twice per level and change with each level. Level 1 spawns a cherry (100 pts), Level 2 a strawberry (300 pts), Level 3 a peach (500 pts), Level 4 an apple (700 pts), Level 5 a melon (1,000 pts), Level 8 a Galaxian ship (2,000 pts), Level 9 a bell (3,000 pts), and Level 10+ a key worth 5,000 points.
Watch the fire breath. Dragons breathing fire are in chase mode and hunting you. Dragons with no fire are in scatter mode and heading to their corners — those are the moments when you can safely grab orbs from dangerous areas.
Don't waste power pellets. Save them for when two or three dragons are nearby. Eating four dragons in a single frightened phase gives you 3,000 points — much better than 200 for one.
Use the tunnels. Tunnels are your escape hatch. Inside a tunnel, dragons slow down while you keep normal speed, so you gain distance automatically.
